Summary Of Covert Affairs Season 2 Episode 9 Sad Professor : Annie learns that her college professor Mark Ramsay was secretly working for the CIA when he was killed tracking a Pakistani spy ring. The CIA asks Annie to find the missing intel using her connection to Ramsay's widow Safia.Piper Perabo stars in the drama as Annie Walker, a CIA trainee who winds up being mysteriously promoted to the field as an operative.

Review Of Covert Affairs Season 2 Episode 8 'Welcome to the Occupation' : Annie is interrupted on her free climbing weekend with her doctor sweetie by an apparent gang of eco terrorists who take the board of an oil company hostage in Mexico City. Spoilers surely follow.Sadly, it can be surmised right away that something else is up. The terrorists seem to be too well-trained and professional to be tree-hugging lunatics. They also only demand money. More anon.

In the meantime, Annie, Joan, and Arthur's blunt instrument, Ben Mercer, infiltrate as the TV news crew terrorist leader Delgado demands to "bring their message to the world." Joan is taking a personal interest because one of her old friends has infiltrated the board of the oil company and is now under the guns of the terrorists. The subplot, by the way, is Jai's evil father leaking information to the media, doubtless as yet another attempt to bring Arthur down. He gives Jai a far more subtle version of the "together we can rule the universe, as father and son" speech. Jai is not buying, smart fellow that he is.

In Mexico City there are a few tense moments, as Delgado is a great fan of the eco-oriented network our group is using as a cover and does not recall Annie being an on-air personality. Fortunately the CIA is quite thorough in these matters and has uploaded at least one special report from our correspondent Annie Walker from the site of some toxic spill or another.
